Thank you for writing what I cannot. None of the 4 of who saw it liked it. We found it tedious and gratuitously violent and....well, you said it better. I just know that I'm sorry I even saw it.

I was puzzled and saddened by the widespread praise for this loud , bombastic film about a shallow , amoral grandiose character - thank you for helping me understand .

I just saw it and was, honestly, stunned. Your review puts a lot of my feelings into words—I hated Marty, and felt like the whole thing was an empty, exhausting exercise. The ending was a copout of unearned sentiment that actually pissed me off. And there is so much praise for this film! How?!

I’m in total agreement with your review and these comments. I cringed so many times at Marty’s borderline-sociopathic behavior. So many unnecessary distractions. I disliked the character so much that I was rooting for him to lose the match at the end.

If that last moment was supposed to show that Marty had some kind of humanity to him, it was so disingenuous that I couldn’t buy it.

And no way would a beautiful actress be giving him the time of day … and second and third chances. Please. Talk about suspension of disbelief.

Also, I can’t get over the dog situation.

It joins my top three list of critically-acclaimed movies that I consider puzzlingly overrated … American Beauty, Her, and now, Marty Supreme.

Thank you.
